Laboratory Assistants have an important role to play in the patient care. They are required to test the samples and specimens of patients so that an accurate diagnosis is made and appropriate care is given. A well trained Laboratory Assistant has a lot of opportunities in hospitals and in the private sector. The Institute prepares and trains its trainees so that they are able to work anywhere.

• Eligibililty: Those who have passed their 10+2 Examination with Medical subjects; Age upto 35 years as on 1st January of the year of admission.
• Syllabus: The syllabus prescribed by Jammu and Kashmir State Paramedical Council will be strictly followed in the training. The trainees will be trained in the skills needed in the well furnished laboratories and hospitals.
• Duration: The duration of the course is 24 Months. Examinations shall be conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir State Paramedical Council at the end of 1st year and final examination at the end of the 2nd year.
